This 19m. art studio for artist Shirley Felts at her family home in Saffron Walden was designed as a spacious, functional creative space. It features a sedum roof to help preserve garden habitat for insects, a small cloakroom for uninterrupted all-day use, exhibition lighting for wall-hung artwork, white-stained pine internal cladding, and a large bespoke desk with drawers. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the family during the build, especially their dog, Waffles!
"We found Cameron by looking online for someone to build a studio for my mother for painting in and as extra space for guests staying over. We immediately liked him. Cameron takes great pride in his work and genuinely cares. He hired people to help him who were all very nice, respectful and excellent at their work. In particular we were very fond of Roman who, along with Cameron formed a strong bond with our rather excitable dog!
We were very impressed with how Cameron worked with us, listening to our ideas and able to bring our vision together, offering alternatives and resolving any issues as they arose, calmly and swiftly. His attention to detail and finishing is of a very high standard and he has been a pleasure to have around, he is very approachable and sensitive to his clients needs. We're just trying to come up with other jobs for him to do so we can have him a bit longer!"
