Alex and Nicole wanted an additional year-round space for their teenage boys to use, with the flexibility to evolve as they grow older. We designed and built a large open-plan room featuring a sofa bed, wall-hung TV, and dartboard. A waterless toilet was also installed, making the space self-sufficient and comfortable. Large aluminium bifolding doors connect the room seamlessly to the outdoor space and adjoining decking, while vertical cedar cladding provides a durable, modern finish.
"After discussions with several garden room building specialists for our garden room/den, we chose to work with Cameron and his team at Cambridge Garden Office.
We really liked the fact that the whole build would be bespoke to us, it was clear that Cameron, and all of his team, are passionate about quality workmanship and using methods and materials that have the environment in mind. Cameron is very approachable, friendly and honest, we knew from the outset that we would enjoy working with him.
For our build we wanted a contemporary style which Cameron was happy to work with us to achieve. We made a couple of tweaks along the way, including adding a waterless toilet, which the team happily accommodated and Cameron was always suggesting small improvements that we could make to enhance our new space.
The project was completed early 2026, the team worked throughout an extremely wet winter and coped brilliantly with the issues this threw up, problem solving along the way. We have had a couple of minor snags since completion which were resolved quickly and more importantly with a smile. We are very happy with our new space as are our teenage children and their friends.
